Font Research
Example 1:
My first idea for a font is the “Simple Print Regular”. I chose this because it goes very well with the singer-songwriter convention of simplicity yet it stands out well against any surface. Furthermore, I was inspired by other singer-songwriters who used a similar type of font that is simple and clear. Another advantage of using this type of font is that it would be distinctive meaning her audience could easily see her name and the title of the album which would make it quicker and easier to purchase the album.

Example 2:
Another idea for the font of our digipak as a handwritten one such as in Otto. This conforms to the singer-songwriter convention of personal music which would also appeal to our artist’s audience as they would feel that the artist wrote the album for them and therefore will be able to connect with her music. In my opinion this font would look best on a simple background because a busy one would distract the audience and would make it more difficult to see.

Example 3:
A third idea for a font would be something along the lines of ‘FF Elementa Rough’ and ‘Eroxion BT’. This more distorted writing makes it appear more personal and would reflect the singer’s artistic style. Furthermore, the bold font would make it easier for the audience to recognise her and her music. Although this font is distorted and rough, it would still stand out on a busy background unlike the handwritten font.
